Registration number ‘JHG 893S’ issued as a replacement to ‘HSB 9’ which was removed prior to sale.

Hossein Behzadi sold the car to the specialist high-performance car dealer William Loughran of ‘Hawthorns’, Gill Lane, Walner Bridge, Preston, PR4 5QN. It appears that William Loughran kept the car in stock or used the car as his own transport for fourteen months but the car was never registered in his name.

Purchased by Michael Slade of 48a Curzon Street, London, W1Y 7RE at just under 9,000 miles from Paul Baber of 36 Montpelier Street, London, SW7. Paul Baber was working for Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. at the time and it appears that, as they were only interested in selling new Ferraris, Paul had a side-line business in supplying used Ferraris to ‘Maranello’ customers.
Michael Slade, a property dealer, used the car for a short period but didn’t like driving the car in central London. He sold the car back to Paul in exchange for another Ferrari.
Paul confirms that he kept and used the car for seven months and during this time the registration document was lost. He remembers the car well with some fondness and forwarded pictures of him with the car during this time for inclusion in this history.
Paul Baber is now a well-known and respected Ferrari specialist. When a replacement was issued by DVLA to the next owner Paul Baber was classed as an owner.

At the Ferrari Owners Club annual Concours d'Elegance at Honnington Hall. Paul Baber remembers entering the car into a FOC Concours d'Elegance, so it was likely that it was this one. The sighting was reported by Edvar van Daalen of www.u12buy.com, a Ferrari specialist web site.

Purchased by Domus Limited of 33 Parkgate Road, London, SW11 4NP (see next entry. At this time the mileage was approximately 11,000 miles.

Domus Limited applied to DVLA for a duplicate registration document and stated on the application that they had purchased the car on 01/07/81. This seems unlikely as it was taken to the Ferrari Owners Club annual Concours d'Elegance at Honnington Hall by Paul Baber on 12/07/81. A probable explanation is that they subsequently bough the and, when registering their ownership with DVLA they simply gave their date of purchase as the date that the previous road tax had expired.
Domus Limited disposed of the car to dealers Galway Smith of Huddersfield, 4 Queensgate, Huddersfield, HD1 2UW.

Purchased by Martin McClelland of Wilcox & Company, Welford House, 94 Gregories Road, Beaconsfield, HP9 1HL. Wilcox & Company are 'Daimler approved' specialists in coachwork conversions for funeral cars and are now based at 21-25 Lower Road, Chalfont St. Peter, Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, SL9 9AL.
Mr. McClelland’s letter states that he purchased the car at the Brookes auction held at Olympia on 2nd December 1994. A letter from Mr. Jones, the previous owner, explains that he entered, and sold the car, in this auction and that he forwarded all the service history to the next owner when he was contacted by them after the sale. Mr. McClelland states that he never received any paperwork with the car and that he purchased the parts manuals and handbooks from Maranello, Egham (now Ferrari UK).
During Mr. McClelland’s ownership he states that, aprt from routine servicing, the only mechanical work carried out by him was a new starter motor (although this was probably only the solenoid as the ‘old’ solenoid was with the car at the time of pruchase by S. Campbell). A new front apron was also fitted as the original was cracked at the time of his purchase of the car.
